About this map

This map gathers the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) live traffic cameras into one fast, searchable view, drawn from the state's TRIMARC traffic system that watches over the Louisville and Northern Kentucky metros. With roughly 237 cameras concentrated on the busiest interstates and river crossings, you can see what I-64, I-65, I-71, and I-75 actually look like before you head out, instead of guessing whether Spaghetti Junction is crawling or the Brent Spence Bridge is backed up.

Coverage centers on the metros where TRIMARC runs. In Louisville that means the Kennedy Interchange — nicknamed "Spaghetti Junction" — where I-64, I-65, and I-71 tangle together at the edge of downtown by the Ohio River, plus the I-264 Watterson Expressway inner belt, the I-265 Gene Snyder Freeway outer belt, and the river bridges to Indiana: the John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln spans carrying I-65 and the Lewis and Clark Bridge carrying I-265 at the East End. In Northern Kentucky, cameras watch Covington and Newport on I-71/I-75 and I-275, including the Brent Spence Bridge that carries I-71/I-75 over the river into Cincinnati. Lexington adds the I-64/I-75 junction, New Circle Road, Man o' War Boulevard, and US-60 in the Bluegrass, with further coverage reaching the I-75 climb through the southeastern foothills toward Corbin and the western corridors near Paducah.

Use the area presets to jump straight to a metro, search for a highway, bridge, or city, save the cameras you check most as favorites, and pull up the nearest airport's conditions alongside each camera. Because these KYTC feeds carry no on-road weather sensors on the public feed, the temperature and wind you see come from the closest National Weather Service airport station rather than the pavement itself — a useful gut check for fog in the river valleys or ice on the mountain stretches, paired with a real look at the road.

Statewide

A bird's-eye view of every KYTC camera across Kentucky, anchored by the TRIMARC metros and reaching the major interstates between them — I-65 from Louisville through Elizabethtown and Bowling Green toward Tennessee, I-64 from Louisville through Lexington toward Ashland, and I-75 from Cincinnati down through the Appalachian foothills to the state line.

Louisville

Dense coverage of the city's freeway core — the Kennedy Interchange ("Spaghetti Junction") where I-64, I-65, and I-71 meet by the Ohio River, the I-264 Watterson Expressway inner belt, the I-265 Gene Snyder Freeway outer belt, and the river bridges to Indiana including the Kennedy, Lincoln, and Lewis and Clark spans.

Lexington

Cameras around the Bluegrass hub where I-64 and I-75 meet, plus New Circle Road, Man o' War Boulevard, and US-60 (Versailles and Winchester roads) — the inner and outer arterials that ring the city and feed the airport, Keeneland, and the horse-country suburbs.

Northern Kentucky

Coverage of Covington and Newport across the river from Cincinnati on I-71/I-75 and the I-275 beltway, centered on the Brent Spence Bridge — the notorious I-71/I-75 chokepoint over the Ohio River, now being twinned with a companion span to ease one of the region's worst bottlenecks.

I-75 South (Richmond–Corbin)

Cameras along I-75 as it climbs south from Lexington through Richmond, Berea, London, and Corbin into the Appalachian foothills toward the Tennessee line — a steep, scenic freight route where winter snow and ice and dense valley fog routinely slow traffic.

Western Kentucky

Coverage out toward the western half of the state, including I-65 through Bowling Green, I-24 toward Paducah, and the corridors serving Owensboro and the Pennyrile — flatter, river-valley country where fog and Ohio River flooding are the main seasonal hazards.

Tips for using Kentucky road cameras

  • For Louisville trips, scan the Kennedy Interchange ("Spaghetti Junction") cameras where I-64, I-65, and I-71 converge — it carries a quarter-million vehicles a day and backs up fast, so a quick look tells you whether to wait or reroute onto the Watterson or Gene Snyder belt.
  • Heading into Cincinnati, check the Brent Spence Bridge cameras on I-71/I-75 before you commit — it's a chronic chokepoint, and construction on its new companion span means lane shifts and slowdowns for years to come.
  • In the Ohio River valleys around Louisville, Covington, and Paducah, dense fog can settle overnight and into the morning; use the cameras to judge visibility before the river-bottom stretches.
  • On the I-75 mountain stretches south of Lexington toward London and Corbin, winter snow and ice hit the foothills harder than the Bluegrass — check those cameras separately even if Lexington looks clear.
  • Save your regular cameras as favorites — your I-264 Watterson commute, a Brent Spence approach, or a stretch of I-65 — so they load with one tap on your next trip.
  • These KYTC cameras have no on-road weather sensors, so the temperature and wind shown come from the nearest airport; treat them as a nearby reference and confirm official closures and alerts with KYTC or by dialing 511 in Kentucky.

Kentucky road camera guides

In-depth guides to the highways, passes and destinations we cover here.

Frequently asked questions

How often do the Kentucky KYTC cameras update?
The cameras come from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's TRIMARC traffic system and refresh on a regular interval, typically every minute or few minutes depending on the site, so you're seeing a recent still image rather than continuous video. Reload the camera you're checking for the latest frame.
Which Kentucky roads and highways do the cameras cover?
Coverage centers on the Louisville and Northern Kentucky metros that TRIMARC monitors — the Kennedy Interchange ("Spaghetti Junction") where I-64, I-65, and I-71 meet, the I-264 Watterson Expressway, the I-265 Gene Snyder Freeway, the Ohio River bridges, and the Brent Spence Bridge on I-71/I-75 at Covington — plus Lexington's I-64/I-75, New Circle Road, and Man o' War Boulevard, with further reach along I-75, I-65, and I-24.
Can I check Louisville traffic and Spaghetti Junction with these cameras?
Yes. The Louisville area preset focuses on the Kennedy Interchange — the I-64/I-65/I-71 tangle locals call Spaghetti Junction — along with the I-264 Watterson and I-265 Gene Snyder belts and the Ohio River bridges, so you can scan for backups before heading downtown or across to Indiana.
What about the Brent Spence Bridge into Cincinnati?
The Northern Kentucky preset includes cameras around Covington and Newport on I-71/I-75 and I-275, covering the Brent Spence Bridge — a well-known bottleneck now being twinned with a new companion bridge. The cameras let you judge backups and construction-related slowdowns before you reach the river.
Does the map show weather alongside the cameras?
It shows the nearest airport's conditions alongside each camera, not on-road sensors. The KYTC public feed carries no road-weather stations, so the temperature and wind you see come from the closest National Weather Service airport station as a nearby reference — handy for spotting fog or ice risk. For official forecasts and warnings, check the National Weather Service.
Can I save my most-used Kentucky cameras?
Yes. Tap the favorite icon on any camera to keep your regular checks together — your Watterson Expressway commute, a Brent Spence approach, or a stretch of I-65 — so they're one tap away on your next visit.
Are these the official Kentucky DOT cameras?
The images come from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet via its TRIMARC traffic system. This site is an independent, non-commercial travel helper that organizes them for easier browsing; for official closures, incidents, and alerts, always confirm with KYTC or dial 511 in Kentucky.
Does this site cover road cameras in neighboring states?
Yes. You can cross the Brent Spence Bridge and pick up Ohio's cameras around Cincinnati, follow the Appalachians southeast into Virginia's VDOT cameras, or browse the full lineup of states from the main road cameras page to plan a multi-state trip from one place.
