Ontario 511 Cameras — Live Road Cameras & Map

Ontario is built around its highways, and almost all of them are watched by cameras. The provincial system, Ontario 511 (511on.ca), pulls live images from more than 900 cameras across the network the Ministry of Transportation maintains — heaviest along the 400-series freeways and the QEW in the south, and following the Trans-Canada (Highways 17 and 11) across the north. Our map gathers those official feeds into one fast, searchable view so you can look at the actual road before you commit to a drive, whether that's a Friday-night crawl out of the GTA or a long winter haul north of Lake Superior.

This map is cameras-only, and that's worth being clear about. Ontario 511 does not publish a road-weather data feed, and our temperature and road-sensor supplement covers the United States only — so you will not see a thermometer reading or a pavement-sensor number on any Ontario camera here. What you do get is the picture itself, and the picture is the signal: a live still tells you whether the 401 is moving or parked, whether a snow squall has turned Highway 402 into a whiteout, whether there's slush on the QEW or bare-and-dry pavement on the way to Niagara. Use the area presets to jump straight to the part of the province you care about: Toronto and the GTA, Niagara and Hamilton, Ottawa, London and Windsor, Barrie and Muskoka, Kingston and the 1000 Islands, or Northern Ontario. Search a highway number or a city name, star the cameras you check most, and treat each image as a recent gut-check rather than an official record.
