This map gathers California's Caltrans traffic cameras — more than 3,000 of them — into one fast, searchable view, pulled straight from the state's official CCTV feed. California driving means a bit of everything: the legendary freeway traffic of Los Angeles and the Bay Area, dense tule fog in the Central Valley, snow and chain controls over the Sierra passes, and landslide-prone stretches of coastal Highway 1. The quickest way to know what the road is doing is to look at it before you go.

Coverage spans the whole state. I‑5 runs the length of California — from the Mexican border through Los Angeles, over the Grapevine (Tejon Pass), up the Central Valley past Sacramento to the Oregon line. The Los Angeles freeways (I‑405, I‑10, US‑101, I‑110) and the Bay Area's bridges and arteries (I‑80, I‑880, I‑580, US‑101) are densely covered. I‑80 climbs from the Bay over Donner Summit to Lake Tahoe; US‑50 crosses Echo Summit; I‑15 climbs Cajon Pass toward Las Vegas; and US‑101 with Highway 1 traces the coast from San Diego to the redwoods.

Use the area presets to jump to a region, search for a freeway or city, and save the cameras you check most as favorites. On the mountain and rural routes, where Caltrans runs road‑weather stations, you'll also see conditions beside the camera. When the 405 is a parking lot, Donner goes to chains, or the valley fogs in at dawn, a quick camera check tells you what to expect.
