Québec driving means real continental winter, and the fastest way to know what a road is actually doing is to look at it. Our Québec camera map brings the province's official Québec 511 cameras (operated by the Ministère des Transports, the MTQ) into one fast, searchable view — live still images from Montréal's autoroutes and river bridges, the A-20 and A-40 corridors between Montréal and Québec City, the Laurentians, the Eastern Townships and the Gatineau/Outaouais region across from Ottawa. The cameras are bilingual, just like Québec 511 itself.

One thing to be clear about up front: these are cameras only. There is no road-weather sensor feed behind them — no temperature, wind or surface readout. What you get is the picture, and in winter the picture is the signal. A camera shows you snow on the lanes, slush and spray, blowing snow across an open autoroute, standing backups at an interchange, or the glaze of freezing rain far better than any number could.
