About this map

This map brings together more than 1,500 live traffic cameras from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) in one fast, searchable view. Whether you're heading over Snoqualmie Pass on I-90, crossing the Cascades on US-2 at Stevens Pass, fighting Puget Sound rush hour on I-5, or driving the long haul to Spokane, you can see real road conditions before you leave the driveway.

Coverage follows Washington's busiest corridors: I-5 from Vancouver through Seattle and Tacoma up to Bellingham and the Canadian border, I-90 across the state from Seattle to Spokane, US-2 over Stevens Pass, I-405 on the Eastside, the SR-520 floating bridge, and the mountain passes that define winter travel here — Snoqualmie, Stevens, White Pass (US-12) and Blewett (US-97). Each camera shows a recent still image so you can judge traffic backups, snow, fog, and wet pavement at a glance.

Use the area chips to jump straight to a region, search by road or city name, save the cameras you check most as favorites, and pull up nearby weather for any feed. It's a quick way to plan around pass closures, traction-tire requirements, and Seattle gridlock, and to decide whether to chain up, wait it out, or pick a different route.

Statewide

Every WSDOT camera across Washington in one view — I-5 from the Oregon line to Canada, I-90 coast to Spokane, US-2 over the Cascades, and all four major mountain passes. Best for an at-a-glance read before a long cross-state drive.

Seattle / Puget Sound

Dense camera coverage through the Seattle core on I-5, I-90, I-405 on the Eastside, and the SR-520 floating bridge across Lake Washington. Ideal for timing notorious Puget Sound rush hours and watching the I-5 reversible express lanes.

Tacoma / Olympia

Cameras along the I-5 corridor through Tacoma, JBLM, and the state capital at Olympia, plus SR-16 toward the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and Gig Harbor. Useful for the chronic southbound backups around the Tacoma Dome.

Snoqualmie Pass

Close coverage of I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass — the state's busiest Cascade crossing, which swings between traction-advised, chains-required, and full avalanche-control closures in winter. Watch the summit, chain-up areas, and the climb on both sides.

Stevens Pass

Cameras on US-2 over Stevens Pass, the northern Cascade crossing toward Leavenworth and Wenatchee. A scenic but storm-prone route where chains and traction tires are routinely required and avalanche closures are common in deep winter.

Spokane

Cameras around the Spokane metro and the I-90 freight corridor across eastern Washington, plus US-2 and US-395 approaches. Key for monitoring black ice, blowing snow, and freezing fog on the drier, colder east side.

Vancouver / SW

I-5 and I-205 cameras through Vancouver and the Columbia River crossings into Portland, plus SR-14 along the Columbia Gorge. Helpful for the daily I-5 Interstate Bridge bottleneck and Gorge wind and ice.

Bellingham / I-5 North

I-5 cameras from Everett and Skagit County up through Bellingham to the Canadian border crossings. Good for northbound border-area traffic, flooding-prone lowlands, and winter conditions heading toward Mount Baker.

Tips for using Washington road cameras

  • Before any Cascade crossing, check the summit camera and the chain-up areas on both approaches — conditions at the top of Snoqualmie or Stevens often differ sharply from the valleys.
  • Carry chains November through spring whenever you cross a pass; WSDOT can require them on short notice and fines for non-compliance are steep, so watch for posted traction and chain restrictions.
  • Tap a camera's nearby weather to pair the image with current temperature and precipitation — a wet-looking road near freezing usually means ice.
  • Save your regular cameras as favorites (your Seattle commute on I-5, the Snoqualmie summit, your Spokane on-ramp) so you can check them in one tap.
  • Use the area chips to jump straight to Snoqualmie Pass or Seattle / Puget Sound instead of scrolling the whole statewide map.
  • Cameras show recent still images, not live video, and can lag or go dark in heavy storms — always confirm pass closures with official WSDOT alerts before relying on a clear-looking frame.

Washington road camera guides

In-depth guides to the highways, passes and destinations we cover here.

Frequently asked questions

How often do the WSDOT cameras update?
Most WSDOT camera images refresh every minute or two, though the exact interval varies by location. During heavy storms a feed may update more slowly or briefly go offline, so treat each image as a recent snapshot rather than a live video stream.
Which Washington roads and highways do these cameras cover?
Coverage spans the state's major corridors: I-5 from Vancouver through Seattle and Tacoma to Bellingham, I-90 from Seattle to Spokane, US-2 over Stevens Pass, I-405, the SR-520 floating bridge, I-82/US-12 toward Yakima and the Tri-Cities, and the mountain passes.
Can I check Snoqualmie and Stevens Pass conditions here?
Yes. The map has dedicated area presets for Snoqualmie Pass (I-90) and Stevens Pass (US-2), with cameras at the summits, chain-up zones, and both approach climbs so you can judge snow, traffic, and whether chains are likely required.
Do I need chains to drive over Washington's mountain passes?
In winter you should always carry chains. WSDOT can post traction-tire-advised, chains-required, or chains-required-on-all-vehicles restrictions on short notice on passes like Snoqualmie, Stevens, White Pass, and Blewett, and driving without required chains can bring a fine.
Is weather information available with the cameras?
Yes. You can pull up nearby weather for any camera, which pairs the road image with current temperature and precipitation — handy for spotting ice risk when a wet road sits near the freezing mark.
How do I save the cameras I check most often?
Tap the favorite icon on any camera to add it to your saved list. That lets you keep your Seattle commute, a pass summit, or a Spokane on-ramp together for one-tap checks before each trip.
Are these the official WSDOT cameras?
The images come from the Washington State DOT Traveler Information system, but this site is an independent, non-commercial travel helper. For official closures, restrictions, and alerts always confirm with WSDOT before you drive.
Does this site cover traffic cameras in other states?
Yes. Alongside Washington, the site offers live cameras for Utah and Nevada, so you can check road conditions across the Mountain West and Pacific Northwest from one place.
